A. I
know exactly what you mean: Life is
just one thing after another! Clearly, outer-planet
transits define our most profound lessons,
challenging us to grow in ways we never could
have imagined. Dane Rudhyar describes Uranus,
Neptune, and Pluto as “Ambassadors
of the Galaxy… They are radically
transformative, indeed subversive forces
at work in the solar system"1 —and,
I might add, in our lives. That can be both
terrifying and exhilarating!
The
outer planets are prominent in your natal
chart: Pluto is rising, and Uranus and
Neptune are part of a t-square.
This indicates that you’re highly
receptive to the lessons that outer-planet
transits can teach us and, ultimately,
to the ensuing growth. You have already
crossed the classic “midlife” point
marked by transiting Uranus opposing natal
Uranus2 so
you have the wisdom of hindsight. I imagine
that, by now, you know these major transits
ultimately leave you with much more than
they take away.
Before contacting your Sun–Mercury
conjunction from late 2006 through 2007 (allowing
a 2° orb), Uranus will oppose natal Pluto
and cross your Descendant this year and the
next. Certainly, this will transform your
relationship to the world at large — and
to your life partner, if you have one. (If
you don’t, that might change too.)
Please understand that this transit does
not mean that you will lose a relationship
that you hold dear, but it does mean that
you will be challenged to be true to yourself
in that relationship.
As Uranus conjoins your Sun–Mercury, a radical
shift in how you perceive the world will lead to a
new vision for your future. What did you learn when
the transiting Saturn–Pluto opposition squared
these planets during 2001–2002? What were the
lessons you received when transiting Uranus conjoined
your Venus, activating your fixed t-square in cadent
houses during 1996–1997? How did those experiences
shift your relationships, your values, your spirituality,
your work, and your life? The answers to these questions
are clues to the important themes that Uranus may soon
reactivate.
To work more consciously with these Uranus
transits, you might ask yourself, “Where do I give away
my power?” (opposition to natal Pluto/Ascendant)
and “Who am I in relation to others and the world?” (conjunction
to natal Sun–Mercury in Pisces in the 7th). Above
all, be open to the remarkable way life unfolds during
such a significant time, and stay fully present.
