Q. My question
is about relationships. I know I am responsible
for who I bring into my life, but I would really
like to know if transiting Uranus will bring
me the partner I am looking for. Should I expect
this from Uranus (ruler of the unexpected)?
Can I have a life of peace and solace with
Pluto and Uranus in the 7th house of partnerships
in my birth chart?
—Frustrated Pisces
A. With
natal Uranus, Pluto, and the South Node
in the 7th house of marriage,
you have serious relationship issues to
work through. In that light, I’m
not sure that the “life of peace
and solace” that you yearn for would
suit you. That is not to say that you won’t
find the right life partner — just
be careful what you ask for, because you
might get it and then have to live with
it.
Your wish is filtered through your sweetly
romantic Pisces Ascendant and 1st-house
Sun and Venus. But your 8th-house Scorpio
Moon, Jupiter, and Part of Fortune reveal
that too much sweetness may quickly bore
you. And your natal 7th-house Uranus, Pluto,
and the South Node indicate that you tend
to attract powerfully charismatic personalities
who may be unreliable and quirky, at best,
leaving you with a magnificently broken
heart.
Psychologist
Carl Jung wrote, “The
psychological rule says that when an inner
situation is not made conscious, it happens
outside as fate.”1 Until you integrate
your own power and become conscious of how
you wish to wield it in the world, you will
feel used by potential partners. Your challenge
is, as Dane Rudhyar described, to transpersonalize2 the nature of your 7th house. This means
manifesting the power of your 7th house through
activity that goes beyond the personal level
of relationship. (And 7th-house relationships
include any formalized relationship sanctioned
by society such as doctor–patient or
astrologer–client.) Involvement in
some type of transpersonal relationship allows
you to both own and consciously express your
capabilities, which promotes a more centered
personal life.
This strategy also offers positive expression
for your Pisces placements, so that your
naturally spiritual, caring nature and healing
potential can actualize in healthy ways,
thus counteracting the tendency toward co-dependent,
unhealthy liaisons. This helps to diffuse
the seemingly inevitable repetition of relationship
patterns.
On February 11, 2001, you entered the Last
Quarter phase of the progressed lunation
cycle, challenging you to live authentically
and to let go of whatever doesn’t serve
you, in order to prepare for the start of
the new 30-year cycle beginning in 2007.
A series of outer-planet transits currently
under way, and continuing through early 2006,
supports this very process. Transiting Pluto,
which has just crossed your Midheaven, provides
the appropriate environment for identifying
your life purpose. Are you taking advantage
of this unique planetary opportunity to take your
place in the world in a more powerful and
authentic way?3
The current Uranus transit
activating your Ascendant/Descendent axis
and conjoining your Sun, again demands
that you step up to the plate, be your true
self, and do your Work in the world. Meanwhile,
your progressed Moon is moving toward the
Ascendant (January 28, 2005) highlighting
the need to let go of the old, change what’s
not working in your life, and become truly comfortable
in your own skin. As you learn to own your power in
the world, ask yourself: “Where in my life am
I claiming dominion?” The rewards are priceless.
