1. Each of
the eight phases of the 30-year cycle of the progressed
Moon to the progressed Sun lasts approximately
3.5 years. Learn more about the Progressed
Lunation Cycle from The

Overview of Dane Rudhyar’s Approach to
Cycles (TMA,

2. Dates include
a 2° orb.
3. My advanced
astrological training includes classical horary/electional
astrology, so I use the Regiomontanus house system,
essential dignities, day/night Fortuna, (see footnote
4) and ancient rulerships (which exclude Uranus,
Neptune, and Pluto, although these planets are
included in the electional chart). Only applying
aspects count, and a multitude of other arcane
rules apply. For more information on classical
horary and electional astrology, refer to The Martial
Art of Horary Astrology, by J. Lee Lehman, Ph.D.,
Whitford Press, 2002.
4. Fortuna is
another name for the Part
of Fortune, the
only one of the many ancient Arabic parts that is
normally included in modern Western charts. It
represents an area of life (by house and sign)
where the native has a natural sense of ease.
To calculate the Part of Fortune, take the number
of degrees the Moon is ahead of the Sun and add
that to the Ascendant (superimposing the native’s
lunation phase over the house wheel). In classical
astrology, there is a different calculation for
night chart Fortuna: You subtract the
lunation phase from the Ascendant. Some modern astrologers
still differentiate Fortuna in day and night charts.
For more information on the significance of Fortuna
see Dane Rudhyar's The
Lunation Cycle: A Key to the Understanding of Personality, also
mentioned in footnote 1, pages 57-91.

Hopeful
Health Advisor
From The
Mountain Astrologer, October-November
2003 (2)
Q. I am a Registered
Nurse and have started a new business as a "Health
Advisor." I want to help people become
proactive patients, and I get lots of good
feedback from those I work with. But my publicity
so far is too “blah.” I would like
to focus on my (astrological) strengths in
my marketing and time a publicity campaign
to maximize impact, starting by year end. With
timing, focus, and hard work, I believe that
I can make this concept a success. I would
appreciate some help.
— Hopeful Health Advisor
A. Your spectacular
grand trine in earth signs, with Jupiter in
Virgo at the Midheaven, tells me you’ve
got what it takes to be both a caring health
advisor and a successful
entrepreneur. (See natal chart below)
Your Gemini Part of Fortune in the 7th house
shows that you excel in one-to-one communication;
your natural, flowing style is both personal
and professional. Your natal 8th-house Cancer
stellium opposite your just-past-full Capricorn
Moon highlights both your innate caring nature and your
capacity to ground that caring with practicality.
Your natal 7th-house Uranus square Jupiter
reveals that, although you’re able
to work within the system, you are also a
bit of a maverick. Arming patients with tools
to challenge the health care system suits
your capacities.
As
I write this, in June 2003, your timing seems
positively divine. Last December, you entered
the full phase of the Progressed
Lunation Cycle, a time of potential
fulfillment.1 With
your second Saturn return (September 7, 2003 – June
25, 2004),2 you move
into the “wisdom years,” when
you really get to walk your talk and take
your huge commitment to service (powerfully
aspected 10th-house Jupiter in Virgo) to
a whole new level. Along the way, Saturn
conjoined your natal Sun in July, helping
you to refocus on your life purpose; transiting
Jupiter crosses your Midheaven (for the first
of three passes) on September 19th, promising
success if you do your homework.

So, when is the best time
to start your PR campaign? A chart calculated
to begin an enterprise at the most astrologically
opportune time is called an electional chart, because
you “elect” (or choose)
a moment that embodies the preferred qualities
of the endeavor and one that also makes positive
aspects to your own chart.3
This electional chart (5:41 a.m., September 20, 2003,
in your location) takes advantage of transiting Jupiter
sextiling your natal Sun (exact the previous day).
(See Electional Chart below.) The electional Ascendant
conjoins your natal Midheaven, reflecting your potentially
high profile and success, while the electional Moon
conjoins natal Mercury, highlighting your role as spokesperson.
The electional rulers of the 1st house (you), the 9th
(publicity), the 10th (your public status), and the
2nd (financial issues) are all highly dignified, as
is the Moon, whose next aspect shows the “action.” Using
classical rulers and Ptolemaic aspects, the Moon next
trines Fortuna.4 This,
along with all of the above, can be considered nothing
short of stupendous.

Chart - PR Launch
Regiomontanus Houses
Though this time is early in the morning,
take advantage of this outstanding moment
by performing an appropriate action at that
exact time, while holding the intention that
this action is the beginning of your new
publicity campaign. You might launch your
new Web site, mail your press releases, or
e-mail an announcement to the world. As you
do this, say to yourself: “I bring
my wisdom to the world in the service of those in need,
and the world is ready to receive me.” Yes!
