Waiting
To Exhale
From The
Mountain Astrologer, April-May
2005 (1)
Q. Current
situation: 45-year-old son has lymphoma; my
house is on the market; my recently purchased
car is a lemon, so I’m car-less and home-hunting,
and my son is terribly ill. My younger daughter
has been getting angry with me — haranguing
me, and I need a break from her. My closest
friend is going to live hundreds of miles away
and I have met a man who seems to be promising — however,
I’m inclined to be suspicious. Everything
I touch at the moment falls apart! Even minor
things, as though reminding me, “It’s
not over yet.” The funny thing
is, I trust utterly what’s happening.
What on earth is going on and how much longer
is this going to last?
—Waiting To Exhale
A. Your
situation takes my breath away, as does
the concurrence of planetary configurations
reflecting your striking experiences. Transiting
Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto bring intense
change, often infused with deep loss, and
all three planets challenge you to the
core. As heart-wrenching as your difficulties
are, something important, meaningful, and
tangible can be born from your pain, which
is why your instinct leads you to utterly
trust what’s happening. This, in
the midst of your trials, attests to your
indomitable spirit and the depth of your
wisdom. With 20/20 hindsight, eventually
all will make sense. Meanwhile, you are
right to keep reminding yourself “It’s
not over yet."1
This intense transitional period began
early in 2003 as transiting Pluto began
its conjunction to your natal Moon (and
Part of Fortune) and transiting Uranus
its conjunction to natal Sun (amplified
by progressed Sun conjunct natal Uranus.)2 eventually conjoining
Ascendant and then Venus. These
once-in-a-lifetime planetary alignments3 began
simultaneously, portending life-altering
change. Add to the mix transiting Neptune
conjunct 12th-house Jupiter, coupled with transiting
Pluto conjunct Part of Fortune–Moon, eroding
the sense of protection normally provided by these
natal placements, leading to your heightened experience
of vulnerability.
Natal Chart - Waiting To Exhale
Source: Mother's Memory
Transiting Pluto conjoining natal Moon
supports letting go of whatever doesn’t
serve you in your life, such as bad habits,
outdated perspectives, and inappropriate
relationships. In your case, the Moon is
associated with your children (5th-house
ruler), thus the crises with your son and
daughter. Transiting Uranus conjoining natal
Sun (and then Ascendant and Venus) implores
you to reinvent yourself (Sun), refocus your
relationships (Ascendant/Descendant axis),
and identify new life meaning (Venus). The “out
with the old, in with the new” theme
prevails through the end of 2006, when more
clarity and understanding emerge.4
Taken within the context of a brand new
30-year Progressed Lunation Cycle,5 you
are in the midst of a metaphorical rebirth — which
is mighty painful though eventually equally
rewarding. To support yourself now, you might
create an intention to enable you to remain open
to the good that can evolve, such as: “My
intention is to open myself to all possibility."6
In that spirit, be open to this new man.
Significantly, this year’s progressed
Moon and Venus conjoining natal IC augur
the potential for true love.7 Whether
he’s
here to help you complete the past or actually
become part of your new beginning, only time
will tell, as long as you remain open to
all possibilities.
